Description:
Manages the accounting and financial operations for MDHA in accordance with MDHA policies and procedures, including but not limited to the accounting, accounts receivable and payable, financial reporting, payroll, treasury and cash management functions. Responsible for executing the accounting functions, including but not limited to maintaining and recording daily financial activities, payroll and benefits accounting, financial reporting and records management. Handle cash and treasury operations, including monitoring and recording bank operating and investment transactions and balances and account reconciliations. Serve as primary liaison with bank for daily cash and treasury management services and as liaison with the City of Dallas for regular cash and treasury transactions. Handle payroll operations, including validating timesheet tracking and liaison with the third party payroll processor. Analyzes, reconciles and records benefits billing, payments and deductions. Serves as day-to-day liaison with benefits providers with respect to billing and accounting issues. Manage accounts receivable processes, including creating, issuing, tracking and maintaining contracts, invoicing and collections management. Manage accounts payable processes, including processing invoices for approval and generating vendor payments. Serves as daily liaison with vendors with respect to transactions and account balances. Serve as day-to-day accounting liaison with sub-contractors for financial and accounting issues. Review and reconcile sub-contractors' financial reports and requests for reimbursements. Manage the accounting, tracking and reporting for fixed assets. Ensure that all eligible assets are properly tagged. Record and account for asset dispositions. Handle monthly and annual journal entries and closing procedures. Handle the maintenance, tracking and reporting of operating and financial statistics, including performance against budget; Prepare monthly interim financial statements and reports for management team and board of directors, as well as financial reports for other stakeholders. Support, calculate, record and report on cost allocations. Support annual audit process, including serving as day-to-day contact for outside auditors and any other auditors with respect to requests for documentation. Provide auditors with schedules and other information needed for the annual audit and preparation of tax returns. Participate in preparation of budget and financial forecasts, ensure that budgets are input into the accounting systems, analyze and report variances. Maintain Finance/Administration policies and procedures manuals. Ensure that accounting/finance operations comply with proper financial internal controls. Serve as resource for MDHA staff and contractors with respect to compliance with financial and accounting policies and procedures. Assist with transactions, trouble-shooting and problem solving.

Requirements:
Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting and internal control principles, including Generally Accepted Accounting Principles and nonprofit fund accounting. Ability to analyzed financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections. Proficiency with nonprofit accounting and related software applications. Possesses high level of attention to detail, accuracy and ability to meet deadlines. Maintains highest standards of integrity, including confidentiality of privileged information. Ability to interact well with staff, visitors, vendors and service providers, and city/county officials. Highly motivated, ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, and to work independently as well as in a team environment. Strong organizational and communication skills, both oral and written. Qualifying Education and Experience Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Minimum of five years of progressively responsible accounting experience in a nonprofit environment. Experience with accounting for and reporting on complex contracts is preferred, but not required. Experience with QuickBooks for Nonprofits accounting software NON PROFIT EXPERIENCE A MUST!
