Controller / Accounting Manager
Located in Amherst, New Hampshire, we are a well established manufacturing company with export sales seeking an experienced accounting professional with strong managerial experience within a manufacturing environment. Reporting directly to the President, the successful candidate will provide overall financial requirements, review and analysis of company-wide performance, development of departmental and operational budgeting, and management responsibility for cost accounting requirements.
General duties and responsibilities:
Manage of all aspects of general and operational accounting. Manage monthly, quarterly and annual closings as well as preparation of related financial statements and key financial performance metrics. Manage the year-end Independent Audit process, including the preparation of Financial Statements. Prepare and deliver timely and accurate financial reports that summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position. Oversee all operations in connection with financial matters including accounts receivable and payable, production, inventory, billing, collections, payroll and auditing. Develop and initiate systems, policies and procedures for transacting financial matters. Make recommendations for improving profitability and reducing waste and inefficiencies. Lead and coordinate the budgeting and long range planning activities. Establish and maintain systems and controls which verify the integrity of all systems, processes and data and enhance the company’s value. Review and implement appropriate internal controls as needed and practical. Familiar with GAAP and knowledge of MRP systems.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting with 8-10 years accounting experience. Excellent working knowledge of, and hands-on facility with, Great Plains (GP) accounting system, Crystal Reports, as well as Excel and Word. Manufacturing and cost accounting experience are essential. Honesty, strong ethical standards and integrity are a must. High energy and consistent commitment to support a growing organization required. Knowledge of and familiarity with evaluating, transitioning and implementing a general accounting system. Strong interpersonal skills and effective working relationships with all levels of personnel is a strong component of this position. Self motivated leader with attention to detail and good analytical abilities.
