RESPONSIBILITIES: Perform timely reviews of all monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting deliverables for responsible entities.
Provide day to day direction, develop performance objectives, create development plans, provide coaching and feedback, conduct performance evaluations.
Conduct detailed review of property work papers, etc.
Manage preparation of monthly reports.
Assure that all work is completed by Controller's accurately and in accordance with GAAP and company standards.
Perform analytic review of all property financial statements and analysis.
Conduct preparation of US GAAP and US Tax basis financial statements with complete footnotes, and projections as required.
Frequently meet with Regional Financial Director, Director, and Fund Directors for update on major events, transactions, and issues.
Support Director and Regional Finance Directors.
Supervise, train, coach and counsel staff to:
Attain highest level of efficiency and effectiveness possible
Ensure that all deadlines are met
Determine that work is correctly prioritized
Ensure that work is completed accurately and on time
Improve performance if it starts to deteriorate from expected norms
Develop plan with employees to improve performance at the earliest sign.
Act as liaison with independent auditors, coordinate year end and interim review procedures.
Assist with resolving technical accounting issues and documentation of TSP position papers.
Conduct effective orientation of new employees into department as well as changes in existing staff responsibilities.
Assist in the preparation and coordination of the budgets for responsible entities.
Assist in the coordination of the preparation of property valuations as required.
Supervise the establishment of new entity structures within MRI and the reporting system.
Manage quarterly compliance testing as required by Property level debt instruments.
Periodically review tenant arrearages
QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor's degree in accounting or 5-7 years experience in real estate accounting.
Ability to operate computer system and effectively input and download pertinent information.
Ability to use and gain sufficient knowledge of, computer software currently utilized by the Company.
Ability to effectively listen to co-workers and respond to their requests.
Ability to travel between floors and buildings in order to effectively communicate all functions of position.
