Contracts Manager Summary


The successful candidate will demonstrate the following competencies:

Knowledge of the FAR and DFARSA solid understanding of DOD and GSA contracting methodsExperience in working on proposals for U.S. Government requirements Hands-on experience in pricing both cost and fixed price type contractsFamiliarity with the U.S. government proposal review processes, cost allow ability and auditing proceduresAbility to analyze complex Requests For Proposals and participate in negotiationsAbility to examine detailed costs determining if labor hours and materials are fair and reasonableAbility to multitask and have strong capabilities with Microsoft Office products


The successful candidate will be a team player, be willing to go the extra mile to assure that projects are completed accurately and in a timely manner. It is essential that the candidate have a high level of integrity and an ability to work with others as part of a team. Also essential is an understanding of the importance of protecting the interests of the company while assuring customer satisfaction


Contracts Manager Duties & Responsibilities

Interact daily with executives, program managers, government personnel, prime contractors, and subcontractors on a variety of government contract issues.Administer complex contractual and proposal activities for predominantly DOD contracts.Identify and resolving contract and proposal issues, bid strategy, risk areas, and implications of emerging contractual issues.Draft agreements, such as teaming agreements, consulting agreements, non-disclosure agreements, proposals, purchase orders, and contracts.Reviewing contracts, modifications, bids, and invoices for content and accuracy.Support contract inspections and audits.Process contract closeouts.Maintain orderly and complete contractual documentation. Manage accurate contractual documentation in the contracts database.

 


Essential Contracts Manager Skills & Characteristics

Basic Requirements

The ideal candidate will have five to ten years of experience with department of defense contracting either in the Government or Private industry.At least five years of direct acquisition experience with an emphasis in contract negotiation, placement and managementA BS/BA degree in an associated disciplineCandidate selected must be able to meet the eligibility requirements for obtaining a US security clearanceCertification (CPCM, CFCM, CPP, CPPM or CPPO) preferred
