The business and database analyst will support the corporate contracting function. This person will participate in all aspects of contracting with a focus on technical aspects including database management, reporting, documentation and training, and other solutions. The selected candidate will take ownership of assigned projects and drive them to completion understanding that the results will have a strong impact on the department's objectives.
Responsibilities: Knowledge/ability to interpret complex proposals, administration of contracting activities and interaction with customers in accordance with company's policies and procedures, applicable laws, customer's requirements, and sound business judgment. Assist in the development of and maintenance of Contract-related databases and reporting/analytical tools. Work on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an evaluation of intangible variables. Exercise independent judgment in developing methods, techniques, and evaluation criteria for obtaining results. Contributions are usually limited to assignment related activities. Requires the ability to change the thinking of, or gain acceptance of others in sensitive situations. Assist in data mining in CostPoint and other various systems. Help implement and load data into various systems/tools. Assist in training new employees on the regulations of company policies and procedures in reference to Contracts. Evaluate security/role access into several Contracts-owned systems used throughout the company. CostPoint knowledge is greatly preferred in the areas of Project Module, Sales Order Entry, Project Labor Categories, Revenue/Billing, Purchasing, Inventory, etc. Some data entry as well as training in these areas to other employees in various departments throughout the company.
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration (or related field) and 1+ years of experience in one of the following areas:
- General knowledge of government contracts administration required
- Government Contracting (various functional areas acceptable)
- Database Analysis (Access, SQL, etc)
- Deltek CostPoint or other ERP systems experience/knowledge
- Cognos/Impromptu/Crystal report writing
- Excellent analytical, and problem-solving/trouble-shooting and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction while managing multiple priorities
- Ability to interface with cross functional staff, help desk support staff, operations/program managers
Preference:
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Management, MIS or related field AND 1-3 years of experience in the following areas:
- Government Contracting (various functional areas acceptable)
- Accounting, Financial Management/Tracking
- Implementing new software
- Database Analysis (Access, SQL, etc)
- Cognos/Impromptu/Crystal report writing
- General knowledge of government contracts administration required
- CostPoint or automated accounting systems knowledge
- Knowledge of pricing, business case, earned value analysis
- Re-engineering and Metrics management
