Systems Administrator
This Senior Systems Administration role is a fantastic opportunity to be a part of building an IT department. While there are many technical challenges within this position, flexibility and a "Can Do" attitude are key components to the success of this role. This position will be responsible for both production and development environments. Customer focus and a strong desire for increasing responsibility and upward mobility are needed.
Responsibilities
Maximize availability and reliability of the production environment(s).Utilize basic project management skills to provide deployment, and maintenance schedules. Establish and manage Production and Production Staging environments and support QA and Dev environments. Monitoring, employ patches, upgrades, etc. Create associated operating procedures which support rapid development, testing and deployment of new products or product defect fixes.Maintain information systems used for general business purposes, such as internal network, workflow system, corporate website, source code repositories, as well as backups of critical data. Lead implementation of new technology infrastructures required to support evolving internal and external client demands, including production environment disaster recovery, real-time / near-real time reporting, and others. Establish written procedures for any operations that directly impact the operation of our production environment. Be prepared to provide technical user support for product development team & test staff.
Required Qualifications
MCSE 5 or more years of systems administrator experience in a Windows environment that supports both software development and production.Desktop support experience and willingness, including software management.Windows 2003 server administration (configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, backup and recovery).Windows 2003 network administration (DHCP, DNS, WINS, firewall, routers, IIS)Active Directory management. Antivirus/anti-spyware program management.Solid demonstrable understanding of TCP/IP networks and technologies.Exchange server management. Checkpoint firewall management (rule base & remote user management).Experience with Raid Arrays, Network attached and distributed storage implementation (SAN) management.Must have strong troubleshooting and analysis skills, be detail oriented, and have the ability to multi-task.Authorized to work in the US.
Desired Qualifications
Experience in startup environments a plus.SQL Server, Visual Studio, Team Foundation Server and Sharepoint experience a plus.Experience with VPN/Firewall/Network design, implementation and support.Experience with WAN environments and hosting a plus.Experience with load balancing/ server clustering.VOIP system administration.Ability to program in one or more of the following also a plus: C/C++, C#, SQL, PHP, Perl, shell scripting, Java.Experience with VMWare, Citrix and ESX server a plus.Cisco 55xx series a strong plus.Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics.
