Amcor PET Packaging is currently seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer for their Central Region. The position is located in the Itasca, IL facility and does require extensive travel (50%+). This individual will provide leadership in establishing, maintaining and sharing Best-in-Class processes and driving continuous improvement cost reductions. This position will improve and maintain the process structure for each area in the plant, from the warehouse to the finished product being loaded onto trucks. The individual will deliver Lean/Six Sigma concept training to plant personnel. Other responsibilities include recommending design modifications and process improvements, if required to meet the Tentative Performance Specifications; improving process control parameters; and sharing plastic processing and mechanical knowledge with personnel at all levels to provide continuous learning and to promote teamwork. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Must be fluent in the English language with the ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blue prints, and government regulations. Must have the ability to write reports and business correspondence, to effectively present information and respond in a group environment, and to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form. Qualifications:

A bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline is required, along with five to seven years related experience. Position requires a thorough knowledge of the PET industry, its related platforms and Lean/Six Sigma concepts. Expertise should exist in injection and blow molding with experience in areas of tooling, quality, high speed automation and process development.
