Job Summary

The Consumer Insight Manager/Sr. Manager is charged with providing the Nexium brand team with the insight required to support high quality business decisions. Using sound market research and analysis skills, as well as strong critical thinking, the Manager will support the brand team in strategic decisions and in program and promotional development work. In addition, the Manager will track, analyze and report on competitor performance and key drivers, as well as identify opportunities for differentiation. This job requires occasional travel.

Those who will qualify for this position must be both technically sound and have the ability to be a proactive internal consultant, adding value and insight to the team through their understanding of the commercialization process.

Major Responsibilities:
·Proactively identify business needs/issues;
·With minimal supervision from their functional manager, determine primary market research design and execution (including vendor/project management when appropriate);
·Compile and analyze secondary marketing and/or sales data (including identification and appropriate use of data sources);
·Provide brand/market evaluation, interpretation and communication of results;
·Report writing, presentations, and accurate record-keeping; and
·Develop and maintain market research budgets.

Responsibilities

Successful performance in this position requires an individual who is proactive, analytical, inquisitive, and can manage projects and vendors while thriving in a team-oriented environment. This position requires 2-3 years of prior market research experience. The Manager should have strong communication skills, require little supervision, and should have a solid understanding of the commercialization process in order to provide added value to the team as an internal consultant. Finally, this person should know how to integrate with others on a team, form relationships, and, ultimately, have the technical and the personal skills necessary to influence their decision.

Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Statistics, Mathematics, Psychology, Management Science or other relevant discipline. MBA is highly desirable.

Preferred Background:
More than three years of prior market research experience, with at least two years of pharmaceutical industry consumer market research. The candidate will have performed this role within the pharmaceutical industry either in a corporation or serving as a vendor to pharmaceutical clients. Additional experience in consumer-oriented industries (e.g., packaged goods) is also preferred. Proficiency in quantitative market research techniques and prior GI experience a plus.
