The role of the Consultant Technical Architect (Microsoft)

 

As the CTA, the ideal candidate will provide the presales support for the client solutions/consulting organization to properly qualify opportunities, scope out engagements, prepare architecture and design documents, contribute towards SOWs, proposals and RFPs. The ideal candidate will also provide technical leadership and staff mentorship to junior delivery consultants with analysis, design, development, integration, installation, implementation, and support. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned Microsoft solutions expert with strong knowledge of Windows, Active Directory, Exchange and SharePoint. The candidate will be a part of the East Area Microsoft Practice and will work to define, refine and further develop the practice implementation methodologies area wide. Insight will look to the candidate to contribute to the development of strategies, policies, and best practices.

As part of the practice organization the ideal candidate will be primarily responsible to participate as the technical expert in pre-sales qualification, architecture and design, development and documentation of solutions based on a customer's strategic business and/or technical requirements. The candidate will lead the implementation with oversight for the delivery of the technical architecture designs, strategies, and project plans that are part of the delivery engagement. The candidate will work closely with Project Managers and Program Managers to design, develop, and implement the technical content defined in the Statement of Work.

Required Skills:

 

·         6-10+ years of experience in the analysis, design, implementation, and support of large complex environments

·         Expert-level background working with Windows 2003, Active Directory, and Exchange 2003

·         Strong organization, analytical, and problem solving skills

·         Strong documentation skills including experience writing proposals and statements of work

·         Excellent client facing and presentation skills

·         Prior consulting experience with larger consulting companies or VARs

·         Advanced Active Directory design, migration and upgrade experience (2500+ seat)

·         Advanced Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2007 migration experience

·         Advanced SharePoint and MOSS 2007 design and implementation experience

·         Intermediate experience with Microsoft OCS and LCS design and implementation experience

·         Intermediate experience with other Microsoft Back Office Products such as SQL, SCCM/SMS and SCOM

·         MCSE 2003 (messaging or collaboration)

 

 

Minimum Experience Required: 6+

Minimum Education Required: Bachelors or equivalent experience
Travel Requirements: 25% to 45% (regional travel)
