On site Safety Manager responsible for implementing HSE program for CH2M HILL Joint Venture construction of a 200 million dollar design build heavy civil construction project. This individual will implement, coordinate, monitor and support the Site Safety Management Plan, including:
• Provide leadership and establish a safety culture within the project.
• Conduct audits of the project site to verify compliance and identify unsafe conditions
• Maintain documentation necessary to comply with the Site Safety Management Plan, OSHA and other applicable regulations.
• Provide monthly reports to JV Board.
• Represent the Project in incident investigations, complaints, and recommend measure to management to prevent reoccurrences.
• Interact with OSHA and other regulatory agencies regarding citations, accidents, claims, site visits and audits.
• Organize and conduct safety meetings and training.
• Review the Sub-contractor’s submittals for compliance with the regulations.
• Verify that subcontractors are monitoring the implementation of the Site Safety Management Plan.
• Manage the project safety committee, maintain minutes and status report for safety and other meetings and events.
Having a strong familiarity with union work environments as well as experience in highway construction is a plus.

Basic Qualifications:
Must have HSE&Q experience on heavy/civil construction sites, be able to develop and deliver HS&E training, in-depth knowledge of OSHA regulations, organized, communicates well (written and oral), strong computer and presentation skills, team player and detail-oriented. Minimum of 8 years construction experience required.
Ability to manage HSE&Q in a Design/build environment.
Ability to implement written site safety management plan
Understanding of construction environment and risks present
Good comprehension of Health & Safety OSHA rules applicable to construction
Good Verbal and Written Communication Skills
Ability to supervise two safety staff on site.
Ability to use Microsoft Office Products including: Outlook; Word; Power Point
