Position Description:

Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Construction Representative located in Carthage, Texas. Overview: The Construction Representative will provide onsite construction planning, inspection, coordination, Operational Excellence (OE), execution, tracking and closure for Facilities projects assigned in their area.

Qualifications:

Key Responsibilities: • Ensure Operational Excellence behaviors are developed, modeled and utilized with an ultimate focus on safety for both contractor and company personnel. • Provide Site coordination of construction activities to ensure efficient operations. • Responsible for Incident-Free Operation (IFO) and engagement with contractor safety programs. • Develop job scoping, project cost estimating, coordinate procurement of materials, cost tracking and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews (operations turnover with operations) in conjunction with the project engineer. • Mentor new hire engineers, summer interns and contract construction support functions. • Complete training modules applicable to job performance. • Participate in field Operational Excellence meetings, support Management of Change process and leader of the Pre-Startup Safety Reviews. • Project Dependent Schedules: Initially, this position covers the gulf coast region but as projects require, selected candidate will be required to travel to Oklahoma and Texas for projects of various lengths and complexity. • Depending on the needs of the business, projects could be assigned outside your normal work area. • Required Travel: Large Geographical Areas >30% of time. Required (Basic) Qualifications • Knowledge of upstream facility construction and operations expertise along with some familiarity with design and construction codes. • Hands on experience in handling multiple work assignments; prioritize and plan to meet schedule. • Knowledge of construction requirements including Area classification, construction specifications, and safety in design. • Experience in Management of Change, Lock Out/Tag Out, Confined Space Entry, Hot Work, Shoring and Trenching. • Experience with management of construction project installation (i.e. cost estimating, bidding, contracting, full function testing, cost control and issue mitigation). • Ability to build and foster positive relationships with field personnel, customers, landowners, regulators, technical functions and other groups involved in field construction activities. Preferred Qualifications • Minimum 5-10 years of construction experience and/or upstream operational experience with some construction related experience is desired.
