DescriptionOur Risk Advisory Services (RAS) practice, a specialty advisory practice within Assurance & Advisory Business Services, provides comprehensive risk services through a suite of strategic, outsourcing, and industry-focused operational services that help companies around the world evaluate and enhance their risk management and business process functions. The Real Estate Advisory Services (REAS) group is a domain within the RAS practice, which specializes in advising clients on creating operational efficiencies and reducing operational costs and business risks. Typical clients include real estate, hospitality, and construction clients as well as the corporate real estate organizations of Fortune 500 companies. Our team of Corporate Real Estate professionals incorporates real estate into the business planning process to achieve strategic goals, yield continued cost savings, provide long-term improvements, and equip our clients with the tools to help them operate more efficiently. Service offerings are classified into three categories: Portfolio Strategy, Operational Strategy, and Delivery Strategy. Portfolio Strategy includes strategic portfolio planning and rationalization, workplace management, and location advisory. Operational Strategy includes operational and cost reduction strategy and sourcing strategy. Delivery Strategy includes outsource vendor selection, risk management, and program management.
ResponsibilitiesDemonstrate a thorough understanding of complex real estate concepts. Collaborate to create a plan for determining strategies and accomplishing objectives. Manage and participate in advisory engagements and communicate complex real estate issues to the team and the client. Stay informed of emerging technical issues and current business and economic developments. Develop and maintain productive relationships with client management. Focus on deliverables and prioritize. Manage expectations of service. Develop and successfully manage to the budget. Understand the client's industry and recognize key performance drivers and business trends. Develop people. Delegate work effectively. Review work performed by the staff, conduct performance reviews, and contribute to on-the-job feedback/training. Foster teamwork and innovative thinking. Understand and follow workplace policies. Commit to developing knowledge. Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Respect/protect client information. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Generate new business opportunities. Understand Ernst &Young's service lines and actively assess/present ways they can serve and bring value to clients. Develop long-term relationships and networks.
To qualify, candidates must have:an undergraduate degree in Real Estate, Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business Management, Engineering, or Management Information Systems and/or an MBA or MRE degree a minimum of 5 years Corporate Real Estate experience in the capacity of service provider or within a corporate real estate organization a minimum of 4 years of relevant experience would be acceptable for those holding a relevant graduate degree working knowledge of one or more of the following systems: Accruent, Archibus, Centerstone, Manhattan, Maximo, Primavera, Prolog, Tririga, WorkplaceIQ or other similar system(s) preferred fundamental business process improvement strategy and project management skills, solid organizational assessment and business analysis experience proficiency with Excel and Word, MS Office and Lotus Notes strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills demonstrated integrity, values, principles, and work ethic experience and interest in recruiting and professional developmentCPA/CA, CIA, CISA, CFE, CMA, MRICS, PMP or CCIM certification is desired. Non-certified hires are required to become certified within 1 year from the date of hire. Based on an individual's professional background, area of expertise, or industry focus, we recognize that other certifications, credentials, or experience may be more relevant than the listed certifications and therefore may be acceptable substitutes with written consent of Ernst & Young&'s Area and Americas Business Risk Services leadership. Successful candidates must be available to travel as needed within and outside of the U.S. and work in excess of standard hours when necessary. Second language skills and international business experience are preferred.
