Construction Project Managers are responsible for project execution, contract management, customer acceptance and satisfaction, safety, quality, constructability, profit and loss, internal consortium management and all other aspects of a highly complex, large-scale, multi discipline project. Projects vary in length and scope, some over $200 million dollars, and 2M construction craft hours with a construction management staff of 30+. Most projects are part of a consortium with other Alstom family businesses that engineer, procure, fabricate and deliver equipment and materials to site for APComPower to erect.
This position reports to a District Manager, and in a matrix, to a Consortium Project Director. Serves as prime interface with:
· Consortium partners and customer to resolve issues of mutual concern with guidance of APComPower Management.
· Buyers and engineers who specify, solicit proposals and purchase subcontracts for material, tools and equipment
· Construction Manager regarding labor
· Consortium partners regarding design for constructability, delivery and other contract material matters
· Onsite project controls people and home office accounting regarding financial performance reports
· Schedulers on planning
· Safety manager for risk management
· Rigging engineers for heavy lifts
· The customer's project manager on negotiations, updates and problem solving.
Major Responsibilities:
Organize, structure and manage a project team to meet the needs of the project and control of project costs. Supervise the managers responsible for on site construction, safety, accounting, material control, quality and tool and equipment managers. Ensure on-time delivery of quality information, materials, workmanship, and installation. Review and manage the project schedule and approve changes, ensuring all contract parameters are being met. Approve all subcontracts and purchase orders for engineering, material, tools equipment and subcontractors. Issue weekly and monthly reports detailing safety, quality, human resource, financial and schedule status of project. Serve as prime interface with customer and consortium partners to resolve issues of mutual concern with guidance of management. Enhance financial return to ALSTOM through sound management. Effect a timely contract completion with customer satisfaction. Manage project risks to avoid warranty repairs and damages for late performance. Meet customer expectations and secure an ongoing maintenance relationship with the customer into the future.
Education/Experience/Requirements:
Education: B.S. degree required; (engineering preferred); MBA helpful.
Experience: Five to seven years of experience managing large, complex multi discipline construction projects or the equivalent.
Certification: PMI or equivalent is helpful.

Ø Understanding of rigging and welding boiler and power generation components
Ø Familiar with boiler code and quality requirements
