The Dormitory Authority of the State of New York provides financing and construction services to public and private universities, not-for-profit healthcare facilities, and other institutions which serve the greater public good. 

 

We currently have multiple opportunities for Construction Field Representatives to work at construction project sites in the NYC metro area.  The Construction Field Representative III exercises independent judgment and makes high-level decisions in assisting the Project Manager in all aspects of highly complex projects, including contract administration and monitoring project budgets and schedules.

 

The starting salary for this position is $70,226. 

 

Primary Responsibilities:

 

Inspect installation of the work on a daily basis.Coordinate the work of all trades. Interpret contract plans and specifications. Schedule and supervise required testing and monitor results. Estimate costs and monitor the project budget. Review progress payments. Evaluate change proposals and prepare change orders. Evaluate claims.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor's degree plus five years experience in construction inspection or supervision of major construction projects, including two years supervisory experience, or a High School diploma plus ten years experience in work related to this position.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

 

·         Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or a construction related field strongly preferred, plus five or more years experience in construction inspection or supervision of major construction projects, including two years supervisory experience.  Knowledge of JD Edwards financial management system and Primavera Expedition project management system.

·         Strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills.

·         Demonstrated ability to read and understand construction related documents.

·         Demonstrated ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.

·         Proficiency in PC applications such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word and Access.

·         Demonstrated organizational skills and ability to prioritize.
