Description: Job location: Des Plaines IL

1. Provide Project Engineering analysis for civil, structural, architectural, and interdisciplinary engineering phases of new construction and renovation projects.
2. Develop site specific project plans and specifications suitable for contracting/solicitation/construction for FAA approval.
3. Develop engineering cost estimates for project plans per FAA standards and guidelines.
4. Provide support for the completion of project engineering packages (i.e. scope of work, listing of property sources, drawing and specification lists, any special requirements or provisions, project schedule, allotted completion time) for assigned projects.
5. Provide engineering data to assist in planning, budget, program, and coordinate the development and implementation of Facilities and Equipment (F&E) and Capital Investment Plan (CIP) projects.
6. Perform engineering studies for feasibility, cost versus benefit.
7. Perform site surveys to collect project data on site specific information.
8. Compile and submit trip reports upon the completion of travel.
9. Attend site surveys, design review meetings for assigned projects, and provide technical input and guidance.
10. Compile and submit design review comments for assigned projects.
11. Review contractor-designed project plans and specifications prior to contract advertisement to determine practicability from construction standpoint , and provide recommendations to FAA.
12. Provide construction /field support after contracts are awarded; review shop drawings, field inquiries, and consult as required for re-design/as-built conflicts with construction elements. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or engineering-In-Training Examination (EIT) or Professional Engineering (PE) certification.

A minimum of five years experience with structural engineering is required.

Experience with CAD (Computer Aided Design) is required.
