Growing Construction Consulting firm is searching for an experienced Construction Consultant to join our team.

The incumbent must possess the ability to inspect and assess the measure of damages to a structure or site in order to establish the scope of necessary repair.

Specific Responsibilties include but are not limited to:

Preparation of guaranteed construction loss estimates.

Insure the favorable / equitable conclusion of a loss.

Experience in many forms/types of construction and restoration including; multi-family dwellings, educational, municipal, hotel / motel, and multi-story.

Experience in builders risk losses, catastrophic occurrences and mold.

Understanding of insurance coverage’s, insurance definitions and general policy provisions.

Loss management and site inspections

Communicate with clients in a timely manner in order to ensure customer satisfaction

Compiling and writing estimates and reports

Marketing

Travel, as necessary to loss site

Filing of files whether it be email or hard copies

Taking photos during a site inspection

Office duties as required

REQUIRED SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures or governmental regulations.

Ability to write reports and business correspondence.

Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Ability to define problems, collects data, establishes facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Ability to climb at least 2 flights of stairs and possibly as high as 30 flights on one trip

Ability to walk on roofs – both flat roofs and pitched roofs

Ability to lift 25 pounds or more

Ability to stand, sit or crouch for an unspecified amount of time

Ability to walk several miles in a day on a site inspection

DESIRED EXPERIENCE

Proficiency in MS Office (Including Outlook and Access), MS Project, Xactimate, CAD (AutoCAD or punch), Intranets, Internet

Working knowledge of a digital camera

Experience in the Commercial Construction or Insurance industries

Valid Driver’s License required
