VICE PRESIDENT OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
The Vice President of Business Development shall oversee all sales, development, marketing and public relations activities for all divisions of the firm. Achievement of strategic objectives outlines within business development plan (such as revenue generators/growth and diversification) is the signature function of this role.
Responsibilities include:
Develop programs to ensure attainment of business plan for growth and profit.Provide direction and structure for operating units with regard to future marketing opportunities.Lead in developing policy and strategic plans with primary responsibility to achieve strategic goals outlined by President and Executive Management Team.Communicate strategic business development goals to all staff.Oversight of external visibility (to clients, consultants, etc.)Delegate information tracking (business development) between offices.Supervision and maintenance of all sales/marketing activities and materials for each regional office.Development of Business Development Plan (with semi-annual updates.)Oversee implementation of Business Development Plan by Division Personnel, Director of Marketing and Regional marketing Coordinators.Develop Annual Marketing budget with President.Implementation and monitoring of budge throughout the fiscal year with Division Personnel, Director of Marketing and Regional Marketing Coordinators.Designate responsibilities to Division staffers, Director of Marketing and Regional Marketing Coordinators. Review direct subordinates.Lead generation in primary Target Markets.Mentoring/assistance/support to all other firm members (in every division) with regard to lead generation and follow-thru.Proposal generation, interviews and overnight for all Target Markets.Public Relations and representation of the entire firm (i.e. website, printed materials, advertising and article placement decision-making).Establish goals and measures of success for all parties involved with Marketing.Accountable to the Executive Management Team for BD activities.Market Team goal setting.Input on workload balance and resource allocation.Involvement in compensation and reward plan organization.Existing Client RelationsConduct client surveys and attend Owner meetings to establish relationship.

o Meet with Management Committee, Director of Architecture, or Interior Design to establish RFP team and coordinate fee proposal.

§ Involvement in strategic planning including internal and external business development and marketing influences affecting company operations.
§ Provide strategic input and leadership on issues affecting the company, e.g., competition, opportunities, project profitability, business partnering opportunities.
§ Computer/Internet capabilities
Performance Measurement Criteria:
§ Workload volume, balance, diversification, profit potential, future marketability
§ Marketing strategic objects are generated, well defines, confirmed by the executive management team and passes clearly to director level management for implementation.
§ Ongoing evaluation and recommendations for marketing practices
§ Educate developing directors for increased roles and responsibilities within marketing.
§ Information sharing up-to-date and accessible to all relevant marketing personnel
§ Ability to come to the aid of other employees, managers, directors, and executive staff to aid them in accomplishing their mission.
