Description:
One of the fastest growing companies in Indiana is experiencing incredible growth and has an opportunity for a Confirmations Chemist I, residing in Indianapolis. This will be for the second or third shift. Job Purpose: Perform tasks that result in the accurate and timely determination of drugs and chemicals in specimens submitted. Participates in troubleshooting of test procedures. Responsibilities: Operates, calibrates, & maintains laboratory equipment and analytical instruments such as centrifuges, balances, pipettes, spectrophotometers, solid phase extraction systems, Gas chromatographs, HPLCs, & Mass Spectrometers. Participates in improvement of analytical methodologies. Understands and can explain the principles behind liquid/liquid and solid phase extraction methods, gas and liquid chromatography, and mass spectrometry. Reviews their own work including analytical and quality control reports, and other operational reports to ensure accuracy of results. Follows established laboratory and chemical safety procedures, including proper biohazard waste disposal and practicing Universal Precautions. Post reviews into LIMS system Other duties as assigned by immediate supervisor.

Requirements:
Knowledge of Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) database software. Ability to synthesize complex or diverse information; collects and researches intuition and experience to complement data. Ability to read, analyze and interpret general professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. 1 to 3 years of professional Analytical Chemist experience. Volt is an Equal Employment Opportunity Employer (EEOE).
