TEKsystems is seeking a candidate with a Computer Operator background who is able to work 3rd shift on a full time three day per week schedule requiring two 13 hour shifts and one 14 hour shift.
Available shift information is listed below:

Thursday and Friday 6:00pm - 7:00am and Saturday 5:00pm - 7:00am

Main Responsibilities:

Frontline support for TPX, TSO, IDMS, CICS, CA7/11.
Tape operations for StorageTek Powderhorn silo.
Monitor batch process for abends via the UC4 scheduling package.
Knowledge of TRMS, SYSVIEW, and JCL is a plus.
Operations:

Monitoring of network resources.
IPL/Reboot of various systems.
Monitoring of internal processes.
Creation of problem tickets via Remedy.
Documentation of operational processes.
Tape follow up on multiple systems
AS400 Operations:

Tape operations for a multi LPAR system interfacing with multiple countries from around the world.
Frontline incident management for a global audience.
AIX Operations:

Support for SAP running on IBM P570 AIX machine.
Monitor batch process for abends via the UC4 scheduling package.
Creation of problem tickets from end user calls.
Open Systems:

Tape operations for StorageTek L700 silo.
Monitoring of servers using CA Netmaster.


Basic Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent
Four or more years of computer operations or mainframe experience is required
Experience in MVS, OS/390, or Z/OS


Preferred Qualifications:

ITIL certification is preferred
Experience and understanding of MIS environment at a Fortune 500 company level
TRMS, SYSVIEW, and or JCL experience
Remedy experience
Experience in AS400, AIX, and open systems
Must be able to work well on a team
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills are essential
Ability to work independently, under minimal supervision, managing most problems with the recognition to elevate more complex problems to the appropriate resource when needed.
