Learn more about the company at www.mallbaker.com. SUMMARY OF POSITION: This position is responsible for monitoring and ensuring continuous operations of computer and peripheral equipment. Provides first-tier help desk support for the Mallinckrodt Baker regional call center. Perform Desktop support and PC deployment services. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 1. Provides first level of support for systems related problems, questions and changes. 2. Determines priority and logs all problem information into help desk software and escalate unresolved requests to second, third level or vendor support as appropriate according to established procedures. 3. Follows up on status of problem reports to ensure response to users is timely. 4. Utilizes history to determine cause and solution of problem. Documents common problem solutions for use by others. 5. Looks for trends in the problems to aid in preventing future problems. 6. Provide occasional non-business hour coverage for any critical help desk calls. 7. Monitors system performance and performs basic administration functions to support phone system, maintenance and problem solving. 8. Process nightly production schedule utilizing the Scheduler. 9. Monitors and ensures continuous operation of production and test systems. 10. Documents hardware problems and contacts responsible vendor for service. 11. Ensures an orderly shift-to-shift transition. Recording all pertinent information on shift turnover sheet. 12. Ability to provide flexible shift support (day or night shift) to cover for other team members, and provide coverage on minimal amount of notice when required. 13. Adheres to operations standards and enforces security procedures. 14. Other duties as assigned with or without accommodation. Requirements: Education: Associates Degree or equivalent IT technical training. Experience: *General PC knowledge and end user help desk support experience. * Microsoft Office products including Access * Experience with Report Distribution Software * Experience with Scheduling Software * Experience with VM, VSE/ESA computer operations utilizing CICS and VTAM. * Experience with Helpdesk software. * Experience with PC imaging technologies. Skills/Competencies: * Good customer service and interpersonal skills * Good phone skills * Good written and verbal communication skills. * Strong analytical and organizational skills * Strong knowledge of computer technology * Has a can do attitude * General PC knowledge * Work in a team environment. * Must be able to lift desktop PC’s and small peripherals.
