JOB DESCRIPTION Position Title: Sr. Completion Engineer for Alaska operations Department: Well Operations Reports To: Alaska Well Operations Manager Primary Responsibilities: During workover and completion operations assists Drilling and Completion Project Manager. Provide completion engineering expertise in the design, planning and execution of downhole well completions, interventions and workovers throughout the life of the field, in a safe and cost effective manner. Under the supervision of the Drilling and Completion Project Manager, prepares completion, testing and workover procedures liaising with Reservoir and Production Departments. Provides technical follow-up on joint venture completion and workover activities. Skill Profile *Engineering degree. *Minimum eight years engineering experience preferably with exposure to operations (salary dependent on experience) *Detailed knowledge of completion design and well construction/intervention. Technical skill required on follow areas: artificial lift (submersible pumps and gas lift), dual completion/multilateral, well bore stability and sand control. *Good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Communication Areas *Interact with all teams within the project organization Detailed Responsibilities *Participate to HSE Hazard Identification and Management; analyze and report Incidents and Hazard associated to completion, workover and well testing operations. *Provide on-site supervision as required. *Act as a focal point for new completion technologies. *Prepare recommendations to improve completion methods, technique and speed. *Provide technical expertise to on-site supervisor during completion, workover, and testing operations. *Perform studies and prepares reports on various operation matters as assigned. *Prepare detailed completion, workover, and test procedures in consultation with Drilling and Completion Project Manager for all operations where completion, workover or well testing activities are required. *Act as focal point for contractors and conducts technical meetings to optimize operations. *Provide assistance in tender evaluation and supplier and service company selection. *Prepare and implement operations manuals and procedures. *Implement and manage programs utilizing both internal and external resources in accordance with provisions of company safety policies. *Checks invoices for validity and to verify that charges and terms are as specified in contract. *Ensure wellbore sketches, procedures, and information on all materials and equipment utilized on wells are maintained in a central location. *Follow-up daily activities, validate morning reports on completion, workover, and testing operations for both operated and non operated activities. Ensure the database is properly populated and updated. *During planning phase prepares AFEs to allocate funds for completion, workover, and well testing; establishes an accurate cost control during the operations. *Prepare ROMs to order necessary materials and services for completions, workovers, and testing operations in timely manner, in order to avoid delays in rig operations. *Plan and manage inspection and testing of material before shipment to the drilling site *Prepare AOGCC forms related to completion, workover, and testing operations. *Prepare final reports on all completion, workover, and testing operations. *Maintain files of contractors’ equipment and procedures to ensure compliance with company procedures. *Ensure completion, workover, and testing operations comply with government regulations. *Liaise with Reservoir and Production departments in preparation of procedures.
