Description: AIG - Hartford Steam Boiler in Hartford, Connecticut has an exciting opportunity available within our Human Resources team for an experienced Compensation Consultant.
Basic Function:
In this position, you will assist in the implementation and administration of compensation programs.
You will be responsible for developing and maintaining a job description library and coordinate data and participate in compensation surveys.
You will analyze market data to determine competitiveness of salaries. and provide support of bi-weekly payroll processing.
In addition, you will maintain compensation-related payroll tables and you will conduct periodic audits and participate on project teams as directed.
Qualifications - Education:
Required: - Bachelor's degree.
Desired: - PHR or CCP certification classes or designation.
Qualifications - Work Experience:
Required: - A minimum of five years of compensation experience including job documentation, analysis, design and evaluation.
Desired: - General HR experience in addition to specific compensation experience. Basic knowledge of payroll processing.
Qualifications - Technical Skills:
Required: - Proficient using Microsoft Excel and Word plus working knowledge of HR software.
Desired: - Advanced Excel skills and specific experience using PeopleSoft HR and payroll application.
Qualifications - Non-Technical Skills:
Required: - Strong analytical, problem solving and organizational skills. Ability to communicate effectively both in writing and verbally to all levels of the organization. Ability to work independently and in a team.
Desired: - Ability to manage multiple priorities within established timeframes. Project management skills.
