A very Prestigious Investment Firm in Dallas seeks a Senior Accountant with a Solid undestanding of GAAP Principles to join their Fast Growing Firm.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
· Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions
· Prepare and process period journal entries and invoices
· Perform account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts
· Research and analyze accounting issues such as income and balance sheet variances
· Maintain fixed asset ledgers to ensure items are properly capitalized and depreciated
· Assist with semi-monthly expense report reimbursement process
· Assist Controller in ensuring accurate financial reporting by assisting with monthly close process, including identifying, preparing, and processing accrual entries, as well as prepaid asset entries, and related amortization schedules.
· Respond to financial inquiries by gathering, analyzing, summarizing, and interpreting data and performing ad hoc analysis for various accounts and departments
· Provide information and schedules to management and external auditors, when needed
· Research actual to budget variances
· Assist in the preparation of annual budgets
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS
· Degree in accounting or finance preferred
· Three years of relevant accounting and/or financial reporting experience
· Solid understanding of general accounting principles
· A solid knowledge of MS Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Candidates may be required to demonstrate Excel skills.
· Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills
· Strong technical work experience in general ledger accounting
· Strong proficiency in Great Plains, Navision, MAS500, or other tier two accounting packages
