LAACO, Ltd. operates more than 42 Self Storage Facilities in the CA, NV and AZ. We are seeking a full-time Company Trainer. This position will be based in our corporate office located in downtown Los Angeles.

About the Opportunity

The Company is seeking a Company Trainer who supports the organizational goals and objectives by developing, directing and conducting training/instructional programs for new hires and existing employees in the Self Storage Division.  Instructional/training programs include individual training, group instruction, lectures, demonstrations, conferences, meetings, lectures and workshops for various levels of management and field managers.

You will also direct and conduct ongoing needs analysis to determine company's current and future training needs. You'll be responsible to select or develop teaching aids such as training manuals, software, multimedia visual aids and computer tutorials, maintain the company operations manual and create/update the training material.  Some work on special projects as needed.  Position reports to Vice President of Storage Operations.

Seizes opportunities to initiate and take ownership of projects and improvements. Must be flexible and posses strong multi-tasking skills Effectively composes memos and directs correspondence to keep employees informed of new company developments and events. Sets a comfortable tone and encourages open communication. Listens attentively and actively.  Facilitates team building. Capable of assessing the development needs of mid-level management and field managers then developing, creating, organizing, and facilitating training to fit those needs. Experience working with confidential material in a discreet and professional manner General understanding of employment law, employee relations and performance management concepts  Strong project management, analytical, planning and problem solving abilitiesExperience/Requirements

We are looking for an energetic, positive-minded, professional trainer that enjoys dealing with people.  Other requirements are:

3 – 5 years instructional design experience Demonstrated ability to write curriculum for new training program and review, evaluate and modify existing and proposed programs Strong knowledge of the theories, concepts and training applicable for adult learners  Demonstrated ability to deliver training in multiple media including live classroom, training, Web-Ex and E-learning  Demonstrated ability to speak to large and small groups  Willingness to travel up to 60% of the time with overnight stays in CA, NV and AZ  Must be available to work weekends occasionally to deliver training programs  Must posses a vehicle and a valid drivers license Consistent record of good attendance  Posses a professional demeanorQualifications

 Require a B.A. preferably in HR, Business, OD or Communications A minimum of 3- 5 years progressive HR/Training experience. Proven ability to design and implement training curriculum and programs. Experience in supporting a multi-site, multi-state organization a preferred.
