If you're interested in joining one of the most admired companies in the US, we seek a qualified, detail-oriented Commodity Research Analyst to join us in this key role within our Country Hedging Division. This position is conveniently located at the CHS Corporate Headquarters and our office is a business-casual dress environment.
Responsibilities:
The Commodity Research Analyst (a newly created position) will research and coordinate commodity market information, analysis and recommendations. The position will work with existing market analysts to provide and deliver this service to the Country Hedging customer base. You will conduct and communicate fundamental and technical analysis of commodities markets using quantitative and research methods. Study and understand the markets to formulate informed opinions of value for CHI customers. (Not necessarily a requirement but must have the potential to attain the level of having a mature, educated opinion). Analyze government & industry reports and opinions. Understand commodity markets how they function, trade & economic impact to customers. Know CFTC and government rules and regulations.
In addition you will write/publish market commentary to include daily & weekly reports with the input and cooperation of the existing market analysts. Along with other staff you will develop and deliver presentations to customers of the research. Results could be applied directly or indirectly to customer risk positions. Coordinate research material activities across CHI giving a unified, consistent & valuable message to customers. Work with CHI market analysts to build and maintain adequate database of information/research material to help CHI retain and add business/customers.
Requirements:
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture or Business. Three plus years experience in the commodity markets. Knowledge of agricultural regulatory structure will benefit candidate. Candidate will be familiar with current trends, trading protocols, and exchange & OTC traded products. Successful completion of NASD Series 3 exam & be NFA registerable. Excellent personal computer skills. Knowledge of ag-production methods. Must have both excellent written and verbal communications skills. Incumbent must be analytical, a problem solver, customer service oriented, a team player, promotional and detail oriented.
