COMMODITY MANAGER

SOURCING DEPT. World Headquarters 

Founded in 1925 and based in Easton, PA Victaulic is the world's largest ISO 9001 certified manufacturer of Mechanical Pipe Joining Products, couplings fitting and valves.  Victaulic products are used around the globe in various piping applications, including commercial projects, industrial manufacturing facilities, municipal water/wastewater treatment systems, mining and oil field operations.

1.    Utilize strategic sourcing process to manage assigned commodities and finished products for multiple locations of Victaulic and subsidiaries. Identify all stakeholders for each major category and form cross-functional team to define and implement strategy that reduces cost, improves quality and delivery performance and improves Victaulic's competitive position. Build case for significant change and develop consensus among key stakeholders.

2.  Analyze current spend and evaluate current suppliers. Consolidate spend across multiple manufacturing locations to create leverage, analyze purchasing trends and develop sourcing alternatives. Identify new high potential suppliers on global basis.

3.  Support new product introduction programs as Program Manager by coordinating all sourcing activities.

4.  Develop key performance measures for chosen suppliers and negotiate on multiple variables to award longer-term strategic contracts that result in significant cost reduction and improved service levels. Manage respective supplier relationships and performance, including but not limited to dispute resolution.

5. Manage multiple projects, coordinate activities of team and track progress/ schedules.

6.Develop expertise in assigned commodities through external research, analyze cost driver and life cycle costs. Provide market intelligence, commodity price trends, investigate where our competition sources their components and materials, as well as determining the respective costs of same.

7.  Participate / lead special projects in Souring area.

            8.   Deliver 5% year over year net cost reductions for commodities and program that fall within assign responsibility.

Qualifications: (Education, Experience, and Personal Attributes)

1.   Bachelors' degree in technical discipline or business. Minimum 5 years of experience in sourcing  function  or MBA with 2 years experience

2.  Demonstrated knowledge of strategic sourcing process and tools and their application in restructuring indirect purchases of a multiplant manufacturing business. Track record of delivering significant cost reduction and service level improvements.

3.   Expertise in negotiation of long term contracts with safeguards against identified risks.

            4.   Exposure to vendor provided or third party technology solutions for MRO space. Ability to identify key performance measures and evaluate alternatives.

5.  Demonstrated ability to build teams and a cross-functional consensus. Ability to work with key stakeholders in multiple locations and at various levels.

6.Strong analytical problem solving ability.

7. Willing to travel 25%.
