The Commercial Manager will assist Management with commercial support and critical financial analysis. The individual will oversee the finance and administration functions and combine hands-on involvement in all finance processes with participation in strategic initiatives and decision making. This position will be based in one of Kiewit’s operating District offices.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Work closely with Management to effectively manage and mitigate business risk.Provide Management with candid, realistic advice on business issues.Ensure accuracy of numbers and financial reports.Participate in/weigh in on/sign off on: Estimating and BiddingContract Administration/Joint Venture AgreementsCash Management DecisionsResponsible for compliance with all local, state and federal laws and policies.Supervise technical and administrative personnel.Responsible for budgeting and staffing plans.Provide training for business and engineering personnel on commercial issues.Support, challenge and provide detailed understanding of key strategies and initiatives.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.7+ years experience in public accounting and/or private industry.Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise.Excellent written and oral communication skills.Effective decision-making and time-management skills.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to negotiate with and influence others.Strong attention to detail.Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.Willingness to transfer to any part of the US and Canada.Travel 30-50%.
