Our client is one of the largest and most respected educational publishing companies in America. They have asked us to locate a sales representative to sell a full line of textbooks and other class materials to professors at colleges and universities in New York City. This is an established territory with a large base of existing accounts with which our client has already developed strong rapport.

The ideal candidate will have a 4 year degree with a good grade point average and 2 or more years of successful publishing or other professional, business-oriented sales experience, as well as an interest in selling to the academic community, and the ability to develop and maintain long lasting relationships with key decision makers. In addition, our client will also give full consideration to candidates with teaching experience and strong sales aptitude.

The successful candidate can expect to earn $55-75K the first year, based on a starting salary of $40-55K plus an annual bonus that adds an average of $15-20K per year, but could be even higher based on personal performance. In addition, you will receive a company car, an excellent benefit package, and outstanding opportunities for advancement into sales management or marketing in one of the finest companies in the country.
