Job Summary

This is a field based position located in Northern California, for the CNS therapeutic area.

The incumbent is a field-based professional with scientific, clinical and therapeutic area expertise responsible for supporting medical and scientific initiatives that support marketed products, products in development and new indications for current AstraZeneca products.

The incumbent provides scientific information on products and disease state expertise to targeted Key Opinion Leaders, Healthcare Professionals and Key Decision Makers consistent with the objectives of the Scientific Affairs, Medical Affairs, Brand Team and Therapeutic Area.

Major Responsibilities
· Identify and engage current and potential customers whose scientific expertise and business knowledge is important to the understanding of AstraZeneca products and drugs in development.
· Identify pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators and selected national medical and scientific thought leaders in response to needs of clinical development and the Brand Teams.
· Develop peer-level relationships with pre-clinical, clinical and post-marketing study investigators and selected national medical and scientific thought leaders consistent with the strategy and objectives of Scientific and Medical Affairs.
· Collaborates and communicates with teammates and appropriate internal stakeholders to ensure KOL development. Manage customer inquiries to ensure relevant and appropriate information provided in response to their area of interest.
· Collaborate with Commercial Organization to assess key accounts and develop and implement account management strategies for marketed products.
· Identify business and market opportunities that support Brand Team and Business Center goals.
· Provide clinical support and deliver data presentations for national or regional managed care accounts and organizations.
· Adhere to internal standard processes and comply with regulatory and compliance requirements.
· Provide scientific support for company booths at conferences and meetings.
· Continually monitor the medical environment to sustain expertise in disease state management and new therapies, competitive products and features.
· Collaborate with Medical Education & Grants Office (MEGO) to ensure understanding of independent grant process by external customers and the expectation of submitting high quality programs aligned with established AZ educational areas of interest. As appropriate, will evaluate independent educational programs and provide feedback to MEGO.

Responsibilities

This is a field based position located in Northern California, for the CNS therapeutic area.

Minimum Requirements
· Advanced degree in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent
· 2 + years experience in healthcare or pharmaceutical industry, marketing or clinical development
· Demonstrated expertise in the drug discovery and drug development process
· Demonstrated expertise in the Medical Education process
· Knowledge of customer segments and market dynamics
· Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication
· Excellent project management ability
· Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills
· Thorough knowledge of FDA requirements
· Strong leadership ability
· Ability to travel

Preferred Requirements
· Doctorate in Pharmacology, Pharmacy, Medicine or equivalent
· Established track record of basic or clinical research
