A full-service title and settlement services company serving real estate companies, affinity groups, corporations and financial institutions in support of residential and commercial real estate transactions is seeking a Closing Attorney in the Lafayette, LA area.  This position will be responsible for marketing title products and services to real estate agents and owners, maintaining the business and achieving the forecasted capture rate goals and determining the legal sufficiency of contracts.  Attorney will also perform accurate buyer and seller closings, examine title documents to identify and clear title problems so that title insurance and title opinion may be issued, complete title review and clearing of any title issues and draft legal documents such as deed, affidavits and Power of Attorney. 

J.D. required from accredited school and must have been admitted to practice law in the state of Louisiana.  Must attend seminars to maintain required CLE credits. High verbal and written communication skills required.  Creativity needed to be able to promote/market/sell the business.  Requires analytical and math skills to solve problems, balance files and payoffs.  Attention to detail required.  Time management and organizational skills required.  Technical  knowledge of closing/title process required. Basic understanding of title insurance required.  Strong public speaking skills to market services of joint venture to agents, lenders, brokers, etc.  Microsoft Suite proficient.
