The Barrow Neurological Institute (The BNI) at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, in Phoenix, Arizona, serving the world’s neurological patient population while promoting it’s commitment to the tenets of excellence in patient care, education and research, is proud to be name once again, to the US News and World Report Top Hospitals in Neurology. For the past 40 years, The BNI creed has continued to develop and strengthen as evidenced by the newly open patient care twin towers dedicated to neuroscience, housing a 12 bed Operative Room, and 150 beds dedicated beds that includes 64 Adult ICU beds, 32 telemetry beds, and 48 general neuroscience beds that includes 12 dedicated Epilepsy monitoring beds.

As part of this commitment and though the close collaborative relationship with attending and resident staff involved in Stroke care, the BNI Stroke Program became stroke certified 2 years ago. Aside from the day-to-day hospital operations, the staff is focused on promoting excellence in care for the Stroke patient as evidenced by the very popular annual BNI Stroke Symposium, a multi-disciplinary meeting enthusiastically supported by individuals on a local and regional level.

JOIN US NOW as we are seeking a qualified CLINICAL NURSE SPECIALIST to join The BNI’s dedicated neuroscience healthcare team. In addition to more than 90 Certified Neuroscience Registered Nurses, we have an Advanced Practice Nursing team of Nurse Practitioners and Clinical Nurse Specialists responsible for maintaining high standards of care for our neuroscience patients. The Stroke Clinical Nurse Specialist position is accountable for promoting excellence in clinical nursing practice and is responsible for knowledge driven outcomes management, advance clinical practice, education to staff, patient, family and community. This position, also serves as a clinical consultant to staff, hospital administration, physician, patients, family and community.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Arizona State RN License (or compact state licensure), Master's degree in nursing with five years progressive experience in area of expertise required.

Arizona State Board of Nursing – Clinical Nurse Specialist Certification within one year of hire required.
