Intraoperative Neurophysiological Monitoring (IONM) is  a growing allied health profession. 

Our Clinical Neurophysiologists engage in assessing, mapping and monitoring of central and peripheral nervous system during a wide array of surgical procedures (orthopedic, neuro, cardiac, ENT, vascular, etc) to protect patients from neurologic insult, as well as work alongside surgeons providing critical intraoperative decisions.  Surgical Monitoring Associates (SMA) is one of the oldest, most established leaders in the field of  intraoperative neurophysiological monitoring and is recognized nationally and internationally as the premier private practice of it's kind in the USA.  SMA's professional staff are among the most highly published in leading orthopedic and neurosurgical journals and textbooks, and  continues to be dedicated to progressive, quality service to hospitals, surgeons, and patients alike. 

Surgical Monitoring Associates (SMA) is recruiting experienced clinical audiologists, chiropractors, physicians assistants, biomedical engineers, or other candidates holding advanced degrees in the neuroscience or allied health fields that are interested in broadening their scope of practice and taking on new clinical and intellectual challenges.
