Opportunity for a Technical Consultant with a medical device manufacturer servicing clients in Georgia, Alabama and Mississippi. This is a direct hire position with benefits. It is preferrable that the candidate be based out of Atlanta, Georgia area or a major city in the territory, in close proximity to an airport.

 

This person will manage the field-based technical service needs of the company  in a defined geographical region.  Achieve in-service and courtesy call volume objectives for end-user customer training and account management by owning the account relationship and interacting with Sales staff, distribution partner representatives and strategic marketing partners to identify territory needs.  Conduct evaluations and troubleshooting as required.

 

Specific Responsibilities include:

1. Establish relationship with end-user accounts in the territory.  Assess training and support needs of each new and existing end-user customer.  Decide on suitable training program tailored to account's individual needs.  Execute customized training program.  Manage travel within territory to control travel expenses

2. Identify inactive accounts.  Assess requirements to reactivate, e.g. reselling, retraining, etc.  Exercise discretion to maximize financial impact of reactivation.

3. Identify opportunities to up sell in an account.  Take necessary steps to ensure up selling occurs, e.g. product demonstration, training, and/or coordination with Sales staff/distribution partner representatives

4. Manage account needs to ensure regulatory compliance and good laboratory practice.  Recommend evaluation, proficiency testing, quality and environmental controls.  Conduct evaluations tailored to customer-specific requirements.  Maintain FDA CAPA compliance by entering data in TSCR, PIR and related databases when necessary.  Close all outstanding files/reports in a timely manner consistent with department goals

5. Assess and analyze the needs of each customer in problem accounts.  Conduct troubleshooting as needed.  Coordinate efforts with TSRs

6. Must be able to travel.

7. Attend meetings and trade shows as a technical representative

 

Qualifications include:

 

Bachelors degree in Biology, chemistry, or related field plus 3-5 years previous experience.  Prior technical service experience and/or medical technology certification preferred. Medical technology training: knowledge of clinical lab systems, laboratory instrumentation use, maintenance and troubleshooting. Excellent interpersonal, verbal communication and problem solving skills Use of good judgment in decision making, problem solving and dealing with people Excellent record keeping and written documentation skills Flexibility, adaptability, good organizational skills, proven ability to work independently and as a member of a team Computer skills including word processing, spreadsheets and databases. 

This position would be rather independent, based out of your home, and requires some overnight travel.
