The Clinical Case Manager is responsible for the coordination and delivery of behavioral health services with plan members, family, providers and staff.  Specifically, the Case Manager applies utilization review protocols, conducting concurrent and retrospective review of mental health and chemical dependence services to ensure the efficient delivery of behavioral health service to members; participates in QA/QI initiatives; serves as a patient advocate when necessary; and maintains adequate clinical documentation of case management activities.

Education:A Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work or Psychiatric Nursing is required.Experience:3-5 years of clinical and/or administrative experience in a hospital setting or managed-care environment is preferred.Skills:Excellent oral and written communication is required. Clinical and customer service skills to deal with providers and agitated members are essential. An understanding of the regulatory and compliance environment of healthcare is necessary. Proficiency with computers is required to document member and provider activity.
