Information Technology's (IT) key approaches to meet these needs consists of the Applications, Telecommunications, Project Management, Web, and Technology. We continue to review IT optimization across our affiliates, regions and entire enterprise.

 

The Application Team Coordinator (ATC) manages the team knowledge base and/or support of major components of EMR application software and functionality.  Serving as a liaison between the project managers and application team members, the ATC will ensure optimal planning and execution of all assigned tasks in a timely manner.  The ATC will provide management and direction to the assigned application team members and coordinate application team activities. This position will direct and oversee the application of key resources required to complete system-wide and facility level implementation and support activities. This position will help define business objectives, works with clinical staff, IT Product Managers, IT Technical Services, customers, and user groups to define system-wide standards as they relate to the EMR applications. The ATC will have "end-to-end" responsibility for the development process within key functional areas of the EMR application.  The ATC will prepare status reports; create working design and specification documents for the implementation of EMR systems and enhancements or modifications that may be needed. The ATC will utilize advanced project management tools and techniques to provide project guidance and direction.  This position must maintain a familiarity with new and currently installed applications/modules in order to provide guidance to the team in troubleshooting functionality and providing support and direction on the effective usage and continued growth of the products.  This individual must have a thorough understanding of the appropriate business and clinical functions and processes within each affiliate organization.

 Education

A bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, the Application area, Information Management, or related Healthcare field or demonstrated experience is required.

Experience

Experience managing and implementing and supporting clinical applications that require coordination of resource, budget development, and project planning is required.  Thorough understanding of the complexities of EMR application software, the use of project management tools, and development of policies and procedures is required. Understanding of the Healthcare industry, development and implementation of Healthcare related information systems, and the intricacies of detailed analysis are required.  Supervisory experience is preferred. Two or more years of experience configuring and using specific EMR application software is required.

Prior experience demonstrating effective teamwork, collaboration (both as a member and a leader) in the development, coordination, and implementation of large, complex projects is required, preferably in an information systems environment in a healthcare setting.

Must be familiar with all areas of EMR applications software.  The ability to create and maintain workflow process diagrams is also required.

Knowledge

Proven, demonstrated success in the techniques and communication skills needed to successfully direct complex computerized system implementation projects is required. Extensive knowledge of Healthcare operations and structure, general requirements in an integrated delivery system and use of information system applications in the practicing Healthcare environment is required. Knowledge of computer systems in PC, client-server, and web-enabled systems is required.  Must possess knowledge of current technology and Healthcare trends and how it is best utilized in implementing clinical applications.

Physical Requirements

       Must be able to remain sedentary for approximately 80% of the day, maneuver around objects,

       climb stairs and/or work in relatively small spaces, bend over or stretch as necessary, operate telephone and manipulate small clerical items (e.g. paperclips, staples, etc.). Must be able to hear, read, write and speak clearly to effectively communicate with department staff, other employees and community, and carryout essential functions.  Must be able to perform long periods of computer data entry with sitting and keyboard use.  Must be able to follow oral and written instructions.  Must be able to handle sensitive issues, conflict with or among others, respectively direct and reinforce staff efforts; effectively plan and organize and prioritize work, and to effectively solve unique problems as they arise or identify when to consult supervisor.  Must  be able to deal with a challenging work environment from time demands and conflicting priorities.  Maintain a positive and professional image and demonstrate self-directed learning to meet professional development and/or license requirements. At orientation and annually thereafter, must be able to meet core competencies for position and area of specialty, as appropriate.
