Current Job Opportunity Summary:

Conservation Services Group, Inc. (CSG) seeks a full time program manager for the CleanPower Choice Program in its New Jersey office. CSG, one of the fastest growing and most diverse clean energy companies in the country, provides energy conservation and renewable energy consulting and program management services to utility companies, state agencies and private market customers. CSG’s New Jersey office is responsible for implementation of several renewable energy programs, which are sponsored by the New Jersey Board of Public Utilities’ Office of Clean Energy (OCE).

The CleanPower Choice Program encourages NJ consumers to purchase clean power through the utilities that serve them, supporting the development of clean, renewable, and diversified sources of energy, as well as a healthier environment. CleanPower include solar, wind, landfill gas, low-impact or small hydro power, from sources located in NJ and the mid-Atlantic region. All electric utility customers who pay the Systems Benefit Charge are eligible to participate. They can choose one of several renewable energy offerings and pay a small premium each month, which is included in their electric bill.

The Program Manager will be responsible for CSG’s day-to-day implementation of this program. This includes regular reporting on program outcomes, doing outreach to program allies, working with NJ communities that sponsor local program promotion, and managing an annual audit verifying that enough renewable energy is purchased to meet the obligations to participating customers. Qualified candidates will have a strong understanding of renewable energy and/or experience with marketing community or voluntary programs.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage the day-to-day functions of Program operations, ensuring compliance with the client’s and CSG’s requirements.

·         Participate in the development, implementation and maintenance of policies, objectives and short - and long-range program planning.

·         Establish, assemble and report on program metrics and trends. Manage an annual verification audit of the program’s offerings.

·         Establish positive relationships and coordinate with various trade allies who may assist these programs, including clean power marketers, utilities (electric energy distribution companies) and industry contractors.

·         Offer and coordinate program services for other contractors serving the OCE as
Market Managers.

·         Do outreach and public speaking promoting the program in high visibility settings; develop and maintain a high level of expertise in issues related to the program.

·         Perform miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications:

·         The CleanPower Choice Program Manager should have 5-7 years experience in the renewable energy field. Experience in managing community or voluntary programs is a plus.

·         Extensive knowledge of renewable energy including PV, solar thermal, wind, and biomass.

·         Expert knowledge of the new markets that support development of renewable energy, especially the Renewable Energy Certificate market.

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.

·         Knowledge of management principles and practices.

·         Ability to work well independently and in a team setting.

·         Strong project management, reporting, presenting, and computer skills required.

·         Demonstrated initiative and follow-through in areas of responsibility required for the position.

New Jersey Renewable Energy Market Lead

Salary Range (based on experience):
$70,000 — $80,000
