We are seeking an experienced geotechnical engineer for one of our Pittsburgh offices.
Job Responsibilities:
Geotechnical analysis and report preparation. Completion of geotechnical analysis for foundations, retaining walls, slopes, and other structures. Perform routine engineering work requiring application of standard techniques, procedures, and criteria in carrying out a sequence of related engineering tasks. On-site field work Ensure the quality of project deliverables Deliver projects in compliance with client and division-specific quality control procedures and guidelines. Assist with marketing and client maintenanceEnsure the client’s satisfaction with our workBe a team player (divisionally and cross-divisionally) and be accountable to other team members to complete assigned tasks; as long as doing so accommodates your workload demands and other client requirements.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in civil engineeringProfessional engineer’s registration (P.E.) 5+ years of experience with geotechnical engineering specific workFundamental knowledge of: soil mechanics, geotechnical scopes, creation of boring, drilling, and sampling plans, foundation systems, retaining structure design, highway and bridges, exploration boring inspection, slope stability analysis and seepage studiesStrong communication (and project management skills for the senior candidate)
Other:
*Familiarity with PENNDOT and PA Turnpike procedures or other relative Department of Transportation experience is a plus.
