Summary of Position

·         Principal Engineer will be responsible for managing the Geotechnical Engineering Group both financially and technically.

·         Must be able to execute geotechnical engineering projects and to oversee quality control aspects of established construction materials testing group.

·         Complete geotechnical analysis and report preparation for a variety of construction projects including transportation, commercial, institution and industrial projects.

·         Technical responsibilities include:  investigations with anticipated deep and shallow foundation recommendations, shoring, settlement, stability, strength evaluations and field and laboratory testing programs.

·         Will participate in proposal preparation, business development, marketing, and project management.

·         Will foster a team environment and develop subordinate staff through leadership and mentoring.

Basic/Required Qualifications

·         Bachelor of Science in Civil (Geotechnical) Engineering minimum (MS preferred).

·         7+ years of progressive experience in geotechnical consulting.

·         PE in the state of Kentucky or ability to obtain in 6 months.

·         Must be experienced in subsurface exploration, soil classification, analysis for shallow and deep foundations and report preparation.

·         Must be experienced in construction processes and in-construction geotechnical recommendations

·         Preparation of proposals and geotechnical reports using Microsoft Office software.

·         Knowledgeable in field and laboratory testing of materials.

·         Knowledgeable in geo-engineering software such as GINT, LPILE, PCSTABLE, etc.

·         Business development and client presentation skills.

·         Periodic visits to construction sites to meet and review client needs.

·         Must pass drug test, background check and must have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's driving (MVR) policy.
