Responsibilities: Manage the Civil Engineering Department. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, coordinating, and administering projects from the conceptual stages through planning, engineering, procurement, construction, start-up, and prime contract close-out; responsible for supporting marketing activities and initiatives; proposal preparation and will work with the Corporate Business Development staff to build the department. Responsibilities include being able to develop budgets and schedules, monitor progress, and initiate action to assure task objectives and schedules are met and work is performed within budgetary constraints; prepare monthly status reports documenting work progress, including identification of deliverables, funds expended/remaining, and description of remaining work activities. These items will be submitted according to client requirements and to their satisfaction. The successful candidate must be able to supervise the civil staff, work well with all co-workers, and to provide a positive contribution to the work environment; must have the flexibility to support the work load in other Studios/Departments and function as a productive team member in a multi-discipline A/E firm.
Experience Requirements: Professional Engineer with 4+ years experience in Site, Civil, or Transportation Engineering. Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years experience or Masters Degree with 8+ years experience acceptable.
Skills Requirements: Knowledge of Delaware; manage people and projects, and able to get work through leads and follow-ups. Provides authoritative technical expertise and advice on difficult problems. Excellent writing and communication skills required. Must be computer literate and have knowledge of MS Word and Excel. Familiarity with AutoCAD and Coral software desirable. Working knowledge of trigonometry, storm water management, erosion and sediment control design is required.
Degree Requirements: BSCE (ABET Accredited), PE preferred.
