JOB SUMMARY

 

This position is responsible for providing civil/structural engineering for projects in chemical and oil refining plants.  Projects involve new construction, existing plant expansions, and debottlenecking of existing plants and infrastructure.  This includes project scope development, conceptual planning, estimating, detailed design, and project execution.  The position also provides knowledge, expertise, and interpretation of Civil and Structural Codes (ASCE, ACI, AISC, IBC and other applicable Codes and Standards).  The position provides technical input to Discipline Engineers as needed.  This position directs the work of Civil Designers in creating project design drawings.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

US citizen or permanent residentMinimum BS in Civil Engineering with a Professional Engineering License.  Future registration in Louisiana is expected5 years or more experience in Civil and Structural design engineering and related fieldsDetailed experience and knowledge of the theory and practice of Civil and Structural engineering as used in a chemical plant or industrial operationMust understand conceptual design engineering, fabrication, construction, cost engineering, and project managementExperience producing Civil and Structural design drawings and documents for projectsExperience with STAAD.Pro structural design softwareMust possess good verbal and written communication skillsMust possess an understanding of Geotechnical Engineering, railroad design, roadway design, drainage design, and the design of marine/dock structures
