CHIEF TECHNOLOGY OFFICER (CTO)

 

Located in beautiful Southern Vermont, Great Auk Wireless (www.gaw.com) is seeking one talented individual to lead the overall technical operations of our firm.  The position is based in our administrative offices in Brattleboro, VT although travel throughout New England to our various sites will be required from time to time.

 

Strong experience in wireless implementations, particularly in rural topographically challenged areas is of great importance to be successful in this role.

 

The CTO role will:

 

Administer and monitor grant and contract technical specifications in order to ensure that corporate projects are secured and implemented in an accurate and timely manner.  

 

Guide the overall technical operations of a Wireless Internet Service Provider operating in rural markets throughout the Northeastern US.

Main Activities

Plan, design and implement the operations of telecommunication and wireless networks to include building technical infrastructure, resource utilization, service offerings and building upon emerging technologies.

Implement operational & QA policies and procedures for technical division of organization.

Lead research and development efforts to insure operations remain at the cutting edge of the wireless industry.

Review and approve all network design plans.

Perform on-site visitations with large clients when appropriate.

General management duties

General supervisory duties of team leaders

Insure compliance with legislative and regulatory requirements for technology

Oversee, plan, and execute the technology training process for field and office personnel.

Enhance operational effectiveness, emphasizing cost containment and high quality service delivery.

Resolve operational problems within department and keeps lines of communication open with staff to ensure high productivity.

Promote & Maintain positive vendor, partner and staff relations.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

5+ years of experience in managing technical operations of a wireless company.

Ability to administer and implement the business goals and objectives as set by Executive Management Team.

Excellent technical knowledge of telecommunication products & services.

Excellent technical knowledge of radio frequency technologies.

Strong communications and executive team building skills.

Masters Degree in Engineering or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with industry experience in the wireless sector
