My name is Tracey Smith and I am an Executive Recruiter based in Evergreen, CO.  I have the distinct honor and pleasure of representing a financially strong bank in their quest of finding a Chief Credit Officer for their Montana operations.

This is part of the Senior Management Team and will report directly to the President/CEO who has a strong vision and is passionate about banking and producing quality loans.  He has been a banker for over 30 years and owned a bank at one point in his banking career.  He is seeking an employee to be his right hand person, someone with strong credit skills, is an out-of-the-box thinker, has been in a lending role at some point in their banking career, and has outstanding interpersonal skills.  The career path for this role is to move into the President/CEO position in the future.

This bank works with credits up to $20MM with averages ranging from $2K to $300K, but in general they deal with high credit volume.  They are a cash-flow lender and one of the better performing banks in the system.  Although they have a centralized underwriting system for credit analysis and underwriting, each bank is individually run and operated and the employee in this role must be able to underwrite and do their own spreads.   This position oversees all their branches in the State of Montana, so traveling on a quarterly basis will be required; constant communications with the Branch Presidents and Senior Lenders are achieved through email and phone communications; therefore, the employee must have excellent communication skills and the ability to convey information remotely.  The biggest challenge in this role is managing the branches as there are many miles between each branch.  The bulk of the commercial portfolio is CRE, C&I and Agriculture.
