Chemist II position in the Solid-State Group of the Corporate Analytical Research Department (CAR) within the R&D organization at the St. Louis site. The position will likely require relocation to nearby Webster Groves facility within 6 months. This person will be involved in the characterization of non-routine samples using various instrumental techniques including thermogravimetric analysis, differential scanning calorimetry, microscopy, vapor sorption, and laser diffraction particle size analysis. This person will also be involved in problem-solving using the aforementioned analytical techniques with other analysts within CAR and other R&D departments, and will be required to communicate results in a timely fashion via written reports. In conjunction with the responsibilities listed above, this person will also be required to maintain detailed records describing experiments and results, and maintain safe work habits and a safe work place. Requirements: BS in Chemistry (or related field) with 3+ years experience or MS in Chemistry (or related field) required. Familiarity with TGA, DSC, optical/hot-stage microscopy, dynamic vapor sorption, and particle size techniques is advantageous. Experience in an R&D environment is beneficial. Experience/knowledge of cGMP regulations is a plus. Preferred Skills/Qualifications: Strong analytical problem-solving skills. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Self motivated. Good work ethic. Strong time management skills.
