A Chemist II position in the Characterization Group of the Corporate Analytical Research Department (CAR) within the R&D organization at the St. Louis site. The position involves the characterization of non-routine samples using various instrumental techniques, specializing in FT-IR Spectroscopy and Raman Spectroscopy; as well as routine maintenance and calibration of FT-IR and Raman microscopes and spectrometers. Additionally, the position involves participation in problem-solving using the aforementioned analytical techniques with other analysts in both CAR and R&D; communication of results to internal customers in a timely manner; maintaining detailed records and reports describing experiments and results; and maintaining safe work habtis and a safe workplace. Requirements: BS in chemistry with minimum 3 years experience or a MS in chemistry required. Hands-on experience with FT-IR Spectroscopy required; experience with Raman Spectroscopy desired. Strong analytical problem-solving skills, excellent oral and written communication skills, ability to work in a team environment, self-motivation, good work ethic, are timely task completion are required. Experience/knowledge of cGMP regulations is a plus.
