Harris Group Inc., a design-engineering firm, is seeking a Chemical Process Engineer in our Portland, Oregon office.  Qualified candidates must have relevant experience in chemical process industries to fill the lead position for project/process designs within a multi-discipline consulting engineering environment.  

 

Required experience is as follows:

Preparation of Process Flow Diagrams, mass balance, Piping & Instrument Diagrams, equipment specification and selection in chemical production industriesIn-depth knowledge applying chemical engineering principles to a production facilityExperience with mechanical/process system commissioningWorking knowledge of Hysis, Aspen Plus, and/or WinGemsDesign of clean spaces, laboratories, factory layout and general arrangementsPrepare concept, feasibility and cost estimates within grassroots and operating facilitiesDevelop project requirements for a multi-discipline design effortDevelop project deliverablesManage budget, scope and schedule within contractual limitsCoordinate work with design team, external vendors, contractors and sub-consultantsExperience within an operating facility working with customers.

BS degree in Chemical Engineering required.  Registered PE preferred.  Experience within an operating facility; knowledge in the pharmaceutical, biopharm and beverage industries, with FDA design experience; and knowledge working with silicon materials in the solar field are pluses.
