Wisconsin Energy company seeks a Chemical Engineer Co-op and a Pilot Plant Operator in their Research and Development Lab. This is an entry level position. Coop must have at least two semesters of coursework in Chemical Engineering. The Pilot Plant Operator must have an Associate degree, in a production, manufacturing engineering, general engineering field, or equivalent experience. The Chemical Engineer Coop AND the Pilot Plant Operator will be responsible for: Performing day to day operation including start-up and shut-down of Pilot Plants; Performing required and preventative maintenance on Pilot Plants; Performing laboratory tests to produce reliable and precise data to support scientific research; Collecting and preparing data for review and analysis; Preparing samples for analysis. The ideal candidate has: Demonstrated mechanical and mathematical ability; Strong problem solving skills; Knowledge/experience with Swagelok™ compression fittings or equivalent; Demonstrated mastery of basic chemistry laboratory procedures; Expertise in Windows OS computer application including Microsoft Office; Self-starter with willingness to learn & expand expertise base.
