Position Description:

Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Chemical Applications Engineer located in Midland, TX.
Overview: The Mid-Continent/Alaska Business Unit (MCABU) consists of diverse assets across 10 producing states (primarily Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Colorado, Wyoming, Utah, and Alabama). These assets are a mixture of typical oil production operations that include several CO2 floods, waterfloods, Gas Plant, conventional gas operations and tight gas areas.
Qualifications:
Key Responsibilities: • Key resource and subject matter expert for the application of oilfield chemicals in the MCA, providing training for Artifical Lift/Corrosion Representatives (ALCR)’s and the field on chemical applications. • Standardizing and monitoring the chemical programs (Scale, Corrosion, paraffin, water quality, etc.) with metrics to evaluate programs. Resource for Root Cause Analysis (RCA’s) on chemical related failures. • Operations interface on capital projects. • Provides input into projects and ensures operational perspective is included in the design and execution planning- often is the overall coordinator between engineering, Well Engineering and Operations (WEO), Facilities Engineering (FE) and Operations in the application and design of chemical programs. • Interfaces with contractors and ensures compliance with Chevron HES and OE expectations. • Serves on Company-wide teams addressing various components of the business and shares best practices across business units. • Actively seeks out new technology for failure and cost reduction.
Required (Basic) Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with a minimum of 2 years related work experience required, or 10 years directly related work experience required in lieu of academic preparation. • Demonstrated working knowledge of industry standards regarding chemical applications including monitoring and mitigation technology. • Knowledge of safe work practices, industry codes and regulatory requirements associated with corrosion control and inspection programs. • Must have strong oral and written skills to improve user competency and be able to manage change behaviors associated with new technology/ process deployment. • Demonstrated strong customer focus, and is able to build partnerships and a cohesive team spirit between and among diverse work groups. • Effectively involves and seeks input from others as relevant in reaching consensus on key issues. • Ability to facilitate and lead project meetings. • Solid understanding of well work technologies and processes so that well failures and root cause can be identified and analyzed.
Relocation Options: • Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters. This is a safety sensitive position.
