Description: Initiate, implement and communicate all Chargemaster changes related to assigned projects.
Operates independently while conducting annual Chargemaster cycle reviews of all assigned cost centers.
Work with Patient Accounting, Local Medical Records, Local Budget Office, Revenue Analysis, Compliance, Internal Audit and Revenue Control to integrate Chargemaster related functions and communicate changes to the Chargemaster and the charging process.
Ensure that all charge documents and charge capture systems are updated to allow for capture of new charges.
Communicate and coordinate training for charge processing changes to cost centers and local hospital management.
Coordinate Chargemaster maintenance and update process for assigned hospital including coding, charge assignment updates for hospital information systems, financial/operations impact analysis and review.
Execute post implementation audits to ensure that Chargemaster changes result in optimum reimbursement. This includes verifying reimbursement and coordinating the review of medical records if needed to ensure that cost centers are processing charges appropriately.
Work with Patient Accounting to ensure denials and billing errors related to the Chargemaster are addressed in a timely and accurate manner.
Keep current on Chargemaster related issues through monitoring of the regulatory environment, review of literature, participation in processional organizations and continuing education.
Execute on decisions made using sound judgement in dealing with Compliance and regulatory issues.
Develop and present recommendations for change. Obtain buy in from Administrative Directors and Physician Leaders responsible for each assigned cost center. Qualifications: Two years experience in a hospital setting or within the healthcare industry preferred
