Our globally recognized brands include Sharpie, Paper Mate, DYMO, EXPO, Waterman, Parker, Rolodex, IRWIN, LENOX, BernzOmatic, Rubbermaid, Graco, Calphalon, Goody, and Teutonia. This is a job summary which includes essential job duties of the position.  More specific information regarding duties may be provided upon request for particular locations and facilities. The role of this job is to provide a crucial link between marketing and sales.  The Channel Manager must be conversant in all product specifics including financials, must be able to fully articulate the brand strategy and help bring the brand to life at retail.  The Channel Manager will be responsible for Account Specific Marketing, Line Reviews, and provide ongoing support to Sales as they support the brand’s initiatives at retail.  In addition the Channel Manager will work with the Customer/Sales teams to deliver sales and profit results. Essential Duties:Develop rolling 12 mo. shared channel/vertical market plan with monthly calendar. Work with Sales, Product, and Marketing to identify, develop, commercialize, and implement Commercial specific programs (promotions, events, marketing materials, targeted sampling, flyers, and brochures). Lead the Line Review Process Lead and manage the education of the organization on the importance of the channel direction for the Mass Channel Monitor merchandising plans via pre and post analysis to drive improvement. Develop and execute launch plans and marketing strategies for new product introductions / launches. Work with sales and product and brand marketing to effectively leverage the full spectrum of promotional funds.  (Market development, sales promotion, and product marketing budgets) Develop and manage approved channel specific expenses including account specific marketing budgets. Work with Category Management to analyze sales reports (POS) and market feedbacks from internal sources, syndicated data and customer POS in order to identify key issues, trends, opportunities and market share growth/decline for use in marketing and sales planning purposes. Actively manage relationships with agency personnel and brand marketing Conduct competitive market analysis to formulate recommendations for an annual brand plan including advertising and promotional strategies. Work with Account Manager and sales representatives in the field to gain knowledge of customer interaction and sales process. Work on and lead projects assigned both individually or within a team environment. Mentor associate and assistant channel managers. Other duties as assigned. BA degree in business administration with a marketing emphasis. MBA preferred. At least 5 - 7 years of marketing and brand or channel management experience. Some sales experience a plus. Experience with the creative development process and program execution Experience with sales and marketing budgets, P&Ls, forecasting, promotional offers to drive sales Highly organized and very strong, proven project management skills Proven performance to create programs to pull through product through channel distribution (Commercial, Retail, Superstore)    Newell Rubbermaid and its Business Units are Equal Opportunity Employers and comply with applicable employment laws.
