Manhattan Center for Early Learning (MCEL) is a dynamic and growing special education preschool and Early Intervention program committed to excellence in the education and treatment of young children with special needs.  MCEL offers a range of center, facility, community, and home-based services. 

 

In its center-based program MCEL employs a developmental curriculum that emphasizes the use of learning centers, utilizes a transdisciplinary play-based approach, and promotes a strong team-based culture.  It maintains close relationships with local universities and has a distinguished Professional Board of Advisors.

 

Manhattan Center is currently seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher certified in New York State to work as a classroom teacher in our preschool on the Upper East Side.  The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following:

 

Substantial experience with Early Intervention or preschool-aged children.Strong knowledge of child development. Commitment to transdisciplinary, team-based approach.

 

Manhattan Center is also seeking certified Teacher Assistants for our Upper East Side location.

 

Teacher Assistant Requirements:

 

New York State Teacher Assistant Certification.Experience with preschool children.Knowledge in the field of early childhood education.Bilingual Spanish/English a plus.
